Visit the Fremont Street Experience in Las Vegas, Nevada and “Lock Your Love” to the heart shaped structure. It’s a SAFE and LEGAL place where couples, families and friends can enjoy the ancient tradition of locking your love forever. Personal messages and commitments adorn this heart of LOVE! The start of a NEW tradition on Fremont Street, Las Vegas.
This sculpture was created about a decade ago, and hails from year one of the Life is Beautiful music festival. Since then, it has become a downtown staple. Thousands of couples have come here to seal their love with their partner by placing a lock on the sculpture, and even more people have snapped a photo in front of the heart. It’s not quite the love lock bridge in Paris, but Las Vegas does have the Eiffel Tower!
Love locks are a symbol of love and commitment.we have been inspired by an ancient custom, which is believed to have originated in China – where lovers lock a padlock on a chain or gate and then throw away the key, symbolically locking their love forever.
The European legend goes that a woman who had lost her lover during World War I started fixing padlocks on bridges where they used to meet. It was her way of expressing that her love was unbreakable. Soon, the trend caught on and became a tradition not only in Hungary but also in other parts of the world.
A love lock or love padlock is a padlock lovers lock on a bridge or similar public fixture to symbolize their love. Usually, you engrave your names on the padlock, lock it onto the bridge and then throw the keys into the Seine river below to symbolize their unbreakable love.
People visit Ponte Milvio to lock their padlock to the bridge and declare their eternal love, today.
Paris actually has two Love bridges, the Pont de l’Archevêché and the Pont des Arts, are probably the most well-known love lock bridges in the World. One bridge is for “lovers” and the other bridge is for “the love of your life.”
