Real-World Experience
A particular experience stands out: during one of my toughest lockouts, I faced a total failure with these locks. The latch of the lock, which was used approximately 20 times a day, failed completely, rendering conventional unlocking methods useless. I realized that when the latch fails, even having a key won’t help. I plan to discuss various ways to bypass this lock in future updates, but for now, let’s focus on its installation and programming.
Re-Keying the Lock
The SmartKey technology simplifies re-keying. By following these steps: insert the current key, turn it to a specified position, and replace it with a new key, you can easily reset the lock to a new key in less than a minute. Changing the lock’s batteries is a breeze. Simply remove the case, replace the 12-volt battery, and ensure everything clips back into place securely.
