You are locked out of your house or condo. What does a locksmith require?
Lock outs happen every single day and night and one of our most popular lockouts is you are locked out of your bedroom. That is the most popular night call, which is not difficult because you’re already in the house. Here is the problem. Number one requirement that we want to see valid ID with the address you are locked out of. Does your driver’s license show you live there?
If you find yourself locked out of your house or condo and you are seeking assistance from Mr. Locksmith, showing a valid ID, such as a driver’s license, can indeed be helpful. It serves as proof of your identity and may be necessary for security and legal reasons. Here’s how the process might generally work:
Contact Mr. Locksmith or Property Manager:
Provide Identification:
When the locksmith arrives, be prepared to present a valid ID, such as a driver’s license. This helps confirm that you are the legitimate resident or owner of the property.
Verify Address:
Ensure that the address on your ID matches the address of the property you’re trying to access. This step is crucial for security reasons.
Confirmation:
Once your identity and connection to the property are confirmed, the locksmith can proceed with helping you gain access.
Discuss Payment:
Clarify the cost of the service with the locksmith before they proceed. Some may accept credit cards, while others might prefer cash.
Remember to be patient and cooperative during this process, as the locksmith is primarily concerned with ensuring the security of the property. If you rent the property, it’s also a good idea to check your lease agreement, as it may have specific procedures for lockouts.
Keep in mind that local regulations and company policies can vary, so it’s wise to communicate with the locksmith beforehand to understand their requirements.

01:04 Passport Does Not Show Address
01:22 Strata Council Member to vouch for you?
Do you have a legal right to be there? If your driver’s license shows that you live there, then we will open up the door. As far as we’re concerned, you live there. It’s your house, your condo, your apartment. You have a legal right to be there. If you don’t have that, a passport doesn’t work ’cause a passport doesn’t show you live there. You know, it gets difficult, and you’re gonna have to call in each case what happens if you don’t have that information. However, if you don’t have it, we’re probably not gonna let you in.
You may, if you live in a condominium building with a strata you can probably get some strata council people will vouch for you, and we can open up the door, maybe, but again, number one, have ID that shows you live there.
